Definition from the Australia Floral Art Association manual 2006.

“Only foliage may be used. Foliage is defined as the leaves of any plant, tree or shrub, with or without stems, including ferns, palms, seaweeds, succulents, cacti, bracts, lichens and mosses. Unopened, immature buds not showing any colour are included.”
