Definition from the Australia Floral Art Association manual 2006.
“A non-geometric shaped design of radial construction which may have more than one area of interest. Balance is usually asymmetrical with spontaneity and space emphasised. The design is dictated by the outline of the plant material – unusual, naturally distorted but not manipulated. Flowers and foliage are place to balance but not follow the outline material and to provide colour and textural interest. Rhythm is an important factor.”
