“Modern containers were of simpler lines, usually undecorated, muted in colour or black and textured. Traditional styles were popular but a growing interest in moderns and abstracts dominated the decade. The sparse linear designs suited the clean outlines of the 70s furniture and decor. Bold uncluttered plant material, space an important feature of the design.”
