Period Design – French Baroque and Rococo (1600 – 1775)
Definition from the Australia Floral Art Association manual 2006.
“The French were influenced by the Italian Baroque. Elaborately painted and decorated porcelain was used. Bright, large, lavish and rich in colour designs, incorporating fruit and foliage. Hogarth curve created. The Rococo period saw sweeping lines, gentle curves and flowers of elegance, fragrance and delicate pastel colours.”
