Friday 20 May

9.00 – 9.45am      Judging and morning tea (at own expense)
10.00 -10.15am   Opening and Welcome by NSWFAA President – Madhu Shah
10.15 -11.45am   Demonstration by Sue Fingleton from Queensland
11.45 -12.30pm   Demonstration/Explanation of the 3-5-8 proportions – Madhu Shah
12.30 -12.45pm  Judges comments/analysis of exhibits
12.45 – 2.00pm   Lunch (at own expense)
2.00 – 2.45pm     Demonstration by Helen Mitchell
3.00 – 3.45pm     Demonstration – Australian native plants in floral art (covers growing, picking and conditioning) – Kim Baillie
3.45pm               NSWFAA Judges Meeting

Saturday 21 May

8.30am               NSWFAA General Meeting
9.30am               Morning tea (at own expense)
10.00 -10.15am Opening and Welcome by NSWFAA President – Madhu Shah

Competition Schedule

Thursday 19 May
4.00pm – 8.00pm   An area will be available for creating exhibits – please note there will be no staging of exhibits on Thursday. All designs may be brought in ready for staging.
Friday 20 May
7.00am  The RSL Club will be open for staging exhibits.
7.45am – 9.00am  Staging of exhibits (classes 1 – 12)

OPEN TO ALL – Bench space classes 1-5 is 70cm; Class 6 as indicated

Class 1  Tall & Tatamied 
Class 2  Achromatic Fantasy – An Abstract design 
Class 3  A Stamobile – A design combining the features of a stabile and a mobile, in which some parts are fixed and some parts move. The moving part, or parts, must be an integral part and in good scale to the rest of the design. The mobile/s may be attached within the design itself or suspended from above. AFAA Manual definition page 51
Class 4  Autumn Turbulence 
Class 5  A Contemporary Cascade 
Class 6  The Beauty of Foliage – a petite design. A design of any style, over 10cm and less than 23cm overall (height, width and depth). All components, container, plant material, base, etc, must be in scale with one another within the size limitation. AFAA Manual definition page 54). Limited to first 14 entries

INTERMEDIATE refer to Show Rule 22 – Bench space as indicated.
Class 7   Patchwork – Bench space 70cm
Class 8   Buffet Table Design Formal or Informal and as guests are not seated the design may be much higher. Viewed from the front.

NOVICE – refer to Show Rule 22 – Bench space as indicated
Class 9   Patio or Barbeque Table Design For outdoor living, informal types of flowers, fruits, succulents, etc. Baskets, wooden platters, ceramic and pottery containers are more suitable than delicate, finer types of flowers and containers. AFAA Manual definition Page 75 – bench space 70 cm)
Class 10 Monochromatic Beauty – bench space 70 cm One colour, its tints, tones and shades, used in varying amounts to provide variety and interest. Interest may also be gained by emphasis on forms and textures. A limited amount of other-coloured natural stems and/or foliage on the chosen plant material is permitted. Different coloured centres of flowers are best avoided unless the show schedule so allows.

All classes have green material on the bench except class 6 – to be displayed on grey petite stands on black marble.
Bench space – as indicated. Bench depth 65cm. Height unlimited
Horticultural material to predominate.
All exhibits judged from the front and sides.
Designs may be brought in ready for staging.
This is a two day event – exhibits should remain on the show bench until 12.30pm Saturday 21 May 2022
All exhibits judged under the guidelines of the AFAA Manual.

NSWFAA Rosette and Bunnings Voucher to the value of $30 will be awarded for the Best in Show selected from the 1st place winners from Classes 1-10

Cost: NSWFAA Members Friday – $25; Saturday- $20
Non Members Friday – $30; Saturday- $25

Viewing exhibits only gold coin donation
Attendance at demonstrations $10 each demonstration

All proceeds to the NSW Floral Art Association.
